Fayette man indicted for mail theft

A Uniontown man was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of mail theft.

Scott E. Funk, 44, of Diamond Street, was named in the one-count indictment.

According to the indictment, Sept. 9, Funk stole $20 from an envelope addressed to a recipient in Ellsworth while he was working as a contract driver responsible for transporting mail and equipment for several post offices in Fayette County.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of five years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both.
