1 min read

Two Washington County district judges were recertified after completing continuing education coursework in Harrisburg.

District Judge Curtis Thompson and Senior District Judge Jay Dutton recently completed the weeklong program to keep judges current in a variety of legal topics and management techniques. Included in the curriculum were updates on the vehicle and criminal codes, landlord/tenant matters, mental health law and veterans programming.

Thompson hears cases from Beallsville, Bentleyville, Cokeburg, Deemston, Ellsworth and Marianna boroughs and North Bethlehem, Somerset, West Bethlehem and West Pike Run townships.

Dutton is assigned to hear cases at the currently vacant office in Cecil Township. He hears cases from Cecil, Mt. Pleasant and Robinson townships and McDonald.
