‘Clicks for Cash’ contest planned
In June, the Washington County Community Foundation will host a Web-based contest for charities that have registered to participate in its upcoming WCCF Gives day of giving. The winning organizations will receive a total of $3,000 in unrestricted grants from the Foundation’s Acorn Fund.
The 2015 “Clicks for Cash” contest will be held from June 8 through 14. Members of the community are encouraged to visit www.wccfgives.org, go to the “Charity Search” section of the site, and click on the charity profile pages of their favorite WCCF Gives participants to cast their votes. Contest participants may cast a vote for more than one charity. The charity who receives the most unique pageviews during the contest period will receive a $1,000 unrestricted grant.
Additionally, the WCCF will use the contest results to distribute four $500 unrestricted grants based on a lottery. Each charity will receive one chance for each unique pageview, so the more unique pageviews a charity receives, the more chances that charity will have in the lottery. A computer program will choose the lottery winners at random.
“The ‘Clicks for Cash’ contest, which was developed to help WCCF Gives charities practice their promotions for the day of giving event, has brought thousands of individuals to www.wccfgives.org. In the past two years, we have seen that many of the charities who performed well in the contest have also performed well on Gives day,” remarked Betsie Trew, WCCF president and chief executive officer.
Qualified charities that have not yet registered for WCCF Gives are encouraged to do so by June 1 so that they may participate in both the day of giving and the “Clicks for Cash” contest. No registrations will be accepted after the June 1 deadline. For complete criteria and the registration form, visit www.wccfgives.org.
