Paving projects announced

Road improvements will be occurring on several routes throughout the summer, the state Department of Transportation advises. These daylight projects include milling the road surface, base repair and placing an asphalt overlay. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. They depend on weather conditions.

The contract with Lindy Paving, Inc. is for $15.3 million, for the following roads:

• Route 88 – From Highland Drive, California Borough, through all boroughs and townships for 24 miles to Brownsville Road Extension in Union Township.

• Route 136 – From Main Street, Washington, through all boroughs and townships for 18 miles to Route 88, Monongahela.

• Route 980 – From Greenside Avenue, Canonsburg, through all boroughs and townships for 9.5 miles to Lincoln Avenue, McDonald.

• Route 481 – From near Progress Street to Route 88 in Monongahela.
