Police beat May 9
Drug, theft charges: Michelle R. Caton, 22, of 321 Beallsville Road, Bentleyville, was charged Thursday by Canonsburg police with possession of narcotics and retail theft. She is accused of stealing Suboxone, Subutex, drinks, candy and other items while working as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid, 601 W. Pike St., on April 29. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Truck entered: Jeffrey Moore of 246 Grace Ave. told Canonsburg police Thursday afternoon two pairs of safety glasses and a spare key for his pickup truck were stolen from the truck. Early Friday, Moore told police the truck was moved and crashed into a wall. He told police he purchased a device to prevent movement of the steering wheel. He believes someone tried to steal the truck but crashed because it could not be steered.
Purse reported stolen: Jessica Mastic of Canonsburg told Canonsburg police early Friday her purse containing $30 and medication was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at Gas ‘N Go, 301 Euclid Ave.
Change stolen: Danielle Gephart of 344 Spruce St. told Canonsburg police Thursday change was stolen from her vehicle.
Warrant arrest: April Sepesy, 26, of 123 Luella Ave., Charleroi, was picked up Friday by Charleroi Regional police at her home on an outstanding bench warrant from Westmoreland County Court for failure to appear. She was placed in Westmoreland County jail.
Fugitive arrested: Keith Cook, 25, of 1592 Route 837, Donora, was arrested Thursday by Donora police as a fugitive from justice after police discovered he was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Baltimore, Md., on charges of robbery, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Police took him into custody after they were called to Gilmore Avenue for a report of all-terrain vehicles on the road. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and is being held in Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to Maryland.
Three injured: Kaitlyn Kelemen, 20, of Belle Vernon, and Richard Dietman, 51, of Monongahela, along with his passenger, Samuel Dietman, 24, of Donora, were injured when Kelemen’s vehicle and Dietman’s collided on the Interstate 70 on-ramp at the Route 481 interchange, Fallowfield, May 1, state police said.
Property damaged: Mark Alan Stasicha, 34, of Monongahela, will be charged by state police with criminal mischief after police say his vehicle got stuck and damaged a newly seeded right of way off Route 917 in Fallowfield May 2. There was $400 in damage to the property owned by Rice Energy of Canonsburg.
Drug, speeding charges: Kenneth Ryan Lyle, 28, of 315 Third St., McDonald, was charged by McDonald police with possession of narcotics and paraphernalia and speeding following a traffic stop Monday on Noblestown Road in Midway. Lyle was stopped for speeding, and police said they found him with a packet of Suboxone in his wallet. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Change stolen: Andrew J. Checque of Finleyville told state police Tuesday that change was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked on Trevor Street, Union. The thief, described as a man about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds and wearing a grey hooded shirt, then ran up Trevor, police said.
Assault arrest: Jason Bonus, 23, of 1042 Addison St., Washington, was arrested Friday morning by Washington police for allegedly choking his wife, Jessica, during a confrontation at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Trespass charge: Eric L. Wheeler, 53, of 235 W. Chestnut St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with criminal trespass. Police say he went to Jollick Manor on Thursday despite being banned from the property.
Man assaulted: Edsol A. Borger, 29, of 886 Addison St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with simple assault after he allegedly punched James Kosek, 21, of Washington, during a confrontation Thursday near Borger’s home. Police were unable to locate Borger and will file the charge by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Harassment charge: Melinda Riggle, 30, of Ewing Street, Washington, will be charged by Washington police with harassment after she allegedly punched neighbor Nikki Robinson in the face.
Assault charge: Kimberly Rogozinski, 50, of 808 Addison St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with simple assault after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, Danny Kosek, 52, of Washington, during a confrontation at her home Thursday. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
House entered: The home of an elderly man in the 600 block of Fayette Street was entered Thursday by a black man in his late 20s with a ponytail wearing a blue-collared shirt and business badge. The man’s daughter said the suspect is seen on surveillance entering the home from a rear porch and then rummaging around in the kitchen. She told police that neighbors told her solicitors were in the area.
