PITTSBURGH (AP) – Police have identified two women found dead in a Pittsburgh home as a 72-year-old grandmother and her missing granddaughter.

Valorie Crumpton and 19-year-old Tionna Banks were found in an East Hills home Thursday afternoon.

Police checking out a missing person report filed after Banks missed a social services appointment smelled an unusual odor and forced open the door.

Spokeswoman Sonya Toler says police noticed music playing inside the home that seemed to change in volume, leading them to believe someone else might be there.

The SWAT team responded and cleared the home. No one else was found inside.

Toler says police found blood in other parts of the house.

Investigators wouldn’t say how the women died. Autopsies are scheduled for Friday.

No arrests have been made.
