1 min read

The southbound lanes of Interstate 79 in Whiteley Township reopened shortly before 4 p.m. after a fatal tandem trailer crash closed it for seven hours today.

Darius L. Rogers, 49, of West Virginia, was killed about 7 a.m. when the UPS tandem trailer he was driving went off the west side of the road at mile marker 10 ½, through a guardrail and down an embankment about 7 a.m., state police in Waynesburg said.

Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
