1 min read

WATERFORD – Authorities in northwest Pennsylvania say a man and woman found dead with gunshot wounds after a fire at their home may have taken their own lives.

The Erie Times-News reports the fire in the Waterford home was reported shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday.

Fire crews knocked down the flames in minutes and called police after finding the bodies of the man and woman inside.

District Attorney Jack Daneri said “the preliminary information indicates the possibility of a double suicide.” He said gunfire was involved in both deaths.

Deputy Coroner Dennis Suscheck said the victims are believed to be a 49-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman who were married and lived in the home.

Their names haven’t been released pending confirmation of their identities and notification of relatives.
