Police turn to billboards to try to solve 2013 slaying

1 min read

JOHNSTOWN – Police in a Western Pennsylvania township have turned to billboards to solicit information in hopes of solving a murder two years ago.

The (Johnstown) Tribune-Democrat reports electronic billboard ads are going up around the Greater Johnstown region about the murder of 38-year-old Robert Williams.

Williams died two days after he was shot twice in the head in January 2013. Police believe two men who may have known him went to his Richland Township house and either were invited in or forced their way inside. It was the township’s first homicide in more than 20 years.

Detective Kevin Gaudlip said calls to the tip line “dried up some time ago,” and officials hope someone will come forward who was reluctant to do so at the time.
