Wire stolen: State police said yellow Romex electrical wire in various gauges was stolen Thursday from the construction site of the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, Hayes Avenue and Sheffield Street, Canton. The wire is valued at $2,000. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.

Purse stolen: Gretchen Sharp of 46 Oakwood Ave., Canton, told state police her purse was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.

Money stolen: Doni J. Miller of 960 Wayne St., Canton, told state police Sunday a false identity was used through social media to fraudulently obtain money from her account. Police are investigating.

Firearms charges: John Michael Kimball, 46, of Belle Vernon, was charged Thursday with unsworn falsification and illegal sale or transfer of firearms for allegedly falsifying an application to purchase a firearm at Pfrogner’s Firearms, 317 N. California Drive, Coal Center.

Dog stolen: Michelle Michalski of 205 Alexander Ave., Strabane, told North Strabane police Thursday night one of her dogs was stolen from a pen in her backyard. She said the stolen dog is named Max and is a Morkie. He is 1 and weighs 10 to 15 pounds.

Fraud charge: Matthew J. Kuney, 33, of Munhall, was charged this week by North Strabane police with access device fraud for allegedly using the debit card of his former employer, Lightwave International, Christy Road, to make three withdrawals totalling $1,308.25 last November. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Marijuana charge: Brandon Moran, 24, of Pittsburgh, was charged Wednesday by state police at The Meadows Casino with possession of marijuana. Police said they found a bag of marijuana in his wallet that he dropped at the casino Aug. 13. When asked what it was at the time, Moran allegedly told police it was basil. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Gambling charge: Daniel Davis, 49, of 107 Poplar St., Canonsburg, was charged by state police at The Meadows Casino with a gambling violation Wednesday for allegedly capping a bet at a miniature baccarat table May 9. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Theft charge: Roberta M. Deigan, 69, of Coraopolis, was charged Wednesday with theft of mislaid property by state police at The Meadows Casino. She is accused of picking up a lost wallet, putting it in her purse and then stealing $30 before discarding the wallet April 11. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

DUI, drug charges: James D. Maier Jr., 37, of 704 Franklin Ave., Canonsburg, was charged Wednesday by state police with possession of narcotics, marijuana and paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and traffic violations stemming from a Jan. 5 traffic stop on Interstate 79 northbound near the Canonsburg exit, North Strabane. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Plants stolen: Maureen Bird of 221 Stevenson St. told McDonald police six to eight tomato plants were stolen Wednesday from in front of her garage.

Warrant arrest: Jonathan Scott Call, 23, of 136 Devils Run Road, Burgettstown, was taken into custody Thursday on a warrant obtained by McDonald police on drug charges. Police were notified by state police, who had Call stopped on Route 22 in Robinson. Call was arraigned in Allegheny County before District Judge James Motznik and placed in Allegheny County jail on $30,000 bond.

Receiving, theft charges: Melissa Ann Kaina, 54, of Mt. Pleasant, was charged Wednesday by South Strabane police with conspiracy, retail theft and receiving stolen property for her alleged role in the theft of two Fitbits from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, last month. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Groceries stolen: Dechaunta D. Jolly, 29, of Park Avenue, Washington, was charged Wednesday by South Strabane police with retail theft after she allegedly stole $887.59 in groceries April 29 from Giant Eagle, Strabane Square. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Two charged: Jordan Celousky, 27, and Sheila Sebastian, 28, both of Pittsburgh, were charged Wednesday by South Strabane police with conspiracy and retail theft after they allegedly stole $379.97 in electronics and clothing from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, last month. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Items stolen: Anthony Darby told Washington police Thursday that 24 compact discs, photographs and vehicle information were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked near his home in the 300 block of Allison Avenue.

Warrant arrest: Lawrence Papini, 20, of 585 Fayette St., Washington, was taken into custody Thursday on an adult probation detainer after he allegedly was caught stealing cold and blood pressure medication from Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau St. He also will be charged with retail theft by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Drug charges: William Love, 34, of 372 Cunningham Road, Claysville, will be charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia after he allegedly was found with eight Xanax pills, needles and empty stamp bags in a parking lot on Jefferson Avenue. Washington police were called because he allegedly was harassing customers of a business there.
