Police seek customer who shot pepper spray in central Pa. restaurant

1 min read

STATE COLLEGE (AP) – A man shot pepper spray inside a central Pennsylvania restaurant, prompting customers to gasp and tear up and forcing the eatery to close for a couple of hours.

Police in Ferguson Township, near State College, say they’re searching for the man who sprayed the aerosol can inside the packed Original Waffle Shop about 11:15 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the man started spraying the pepper spray right after a woman he was with got up from a booth and started walking to a restroom. Police say the store’s video surveillance captured images of the couple.

Police say the man drove away in a dark-colored SUV with a Pennsylvania license plate. The first three letters of the plate were ENN.

Police say paramedics responded and treated a 5-week old baby and other patrons, but that nobody was seriously hurt.
