Police beat May 19
Man charged with threatening grandmother: Joshua L. Hegedis, 24, of 1835 E. Roy Furman Highway, Carmichaels, was charged with terroristic threats and harassment after Cumberland Township police said he threatened his grandmother and threw a vacuum about 1:30 p.m. Friday while staying at her home. District Judge Glenn Bates arraigned Hegedis and he was taken to Greene County jail on $7,000 bond.
Copper theft: Troy Shultz, 21, of 361 Water Dam Road, Waynesburg, was charged by Cumberland Township police Friday with theft and receiving stolen property following an attempted copper theft March 26. Police said Shutlz and two other men tried to steal $1,500 worth of copper wiring from a business along Industrial Drive in the township.
Disorderly conduct: Cumberland Township police said they cited Tesla D. DeVault, 18, of 246 Grave Ave., Nemacolin, for disorderly conduct, trespassing and criminal mischief after she allegedly ripped up flowers from a garden outside a home at 376 Sheridan Ave. and threw them at the resident May 11.
Single-car crash: A motorist crashed into an embankment along Route 88 near Donham Road in Monongahela Township shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday, state police said, causing heavy damage to the car. The driver left the crash scene and has not been located by police.
Harassment: State police cited Anthony B. Middleton, 27, of Morgantown, W.Va., for harassment after he allegedly dragged a woman by her neck during an argument on May 9 inside her Perry Township home in the 200 block of Bald Hill Road.
Drug charges: The Greene County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force on Thursday charged James Michael Gillispie, 25, of 487 W. Roy Furman Highway, Wind Ridge, with two counts of felony drug possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communications facility. The task force’s detectives said Gillispie sold 10 stamp bags of heroin to an undercover officer parked at High and East streets in Waynesburg on Oct. 22. Charges were filed through District Judge Glenn Bates’ office, although police are still trying to locate Gillispie.
Harassment citation: Gloria S. Patterson, 20, of 20 Grandview Drive, Franklin Township, was cited for harassment after Waynesburg police said she tried to punch a man sitting in his car parked at a gas station along Greene Street May 1.
