Ethics Commission fines ex-West Greene worker

1 min read

Mike Pierson, the former director of facilities for West Greene School District, reached an agreement with the state Ethics Commission over his failure to file statements of financial interests on time in 2011 and 2012.

The commission made its ruling on May 6 that he violated the filing requirements of the ethics law, commission Executive Director Rob Caruso said. Caruso called the ethics violation a “minor” infraction.

Pierson paid a civil penalty of $500 and filed the correct statements, the Ethics Commission announced Monday, meaning the matter is now closed.

West Greene School Board voted in October 2012 to not extend Pierson’s contract as director of the facilities after he had worked in the position for less than two years.
