A suspect is in custody after a bank robbery this afternoon at cfsbank in Peters Township.

The man who allegedly robbed the cfsbank branch, 622 E. McMurray Road, Peters Township, Tuesday afternoon was apprehended in Jefferson Hills a short time later.

According to Peters Township police Chief Harry Fruecht, the man, whose name has not been released, walked into the bank at 1:28 p.m. and slipped a note to the teller demanding money.

He was arrested in Jefferson Hills less than an hour later with the assistance of other police departments after his vehicle was spotted as it traveled from the scene and up Route 51.

He was transported back to Peters Township and arraigned Tuesday night by District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

His vehicle, which still contained the money stolen in the robbery, was also towed back to Peters for processing.

The FBI is also joining in the investigation.
