Penn State frat linked to nude photos sidelined for 3 years
HARRISBURG (AP) – A Pennsylvania State University fraternity linked to a secret Facebook page where photos of nude and semi-nude women were posted is getting a three-year suspension after the school’s Interfraternity Council recommended a milder punishment.
Penn State announced Tuesday that its investigation found some Kappa Delta Rho members engaged in sexual harassment, hazing that included boxing matches and a “persistent climate of humiliation for several females.”
The university’s vice president for student affairs said the sum of the fraternity’s misbehavior is more than Penn State will tolerate.
A school spokeswoman said the university canceled the fraternity’s recognition as a campus organization as of Tuesday, and that status will remain until May 2018.
A phone message left at the State College chapter house wasn’t immediately returned.
