Chartiers police investigating shots fired in Meadow Lands

1 min read

Chartiers Township police are investigating shots being fired from a vehicle early Tuesday in Meadow Lands.

Several residents in the area reported hearing the sound of gunfire at 3:26 a.m. in the 500 block of Pike Street between Barnickle Street and County Club Road, said Chief James Horvath.

Sgt. Michael Filosi said the shots were fired from a black Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle was traveling west but at one point crossed into the eastbound lanes as the shots were being fired.

Officers found one casing from a 9mm gun near the railroad tracks on Pike immediately after the shooting, while two more were found later that morning. Police have not been able to determine if the bullets hit a building or a vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Filosi at 724-745-8030, extension 215.
