Bridgeville mother, daughter charged with insurance fraud
Darcy Dagaro, 54, and Mary Dagaro, 84, 2547 Brookledge Road, Apt. 34, Bridgeville, were charged Thursday by the state attorney general’s office with theft by deception and insurance fraud.
According to the criminal complaint, on Oct. 2, 2013, Darcy Dagaro filed a claim with Omni Insurance Co. She stated she was a passenger in the vehicle of Mary Dagaro, her mother, when Mary crashed into the side of the Wheel Lounge in South Fayette Township. Mary Dagaro spoke with Omni and allegedly supported her claim.
An investigation by the South Fayette police revealed Darcy Dagaro was the sole operator and occupant of the vehicle during the crash. Her license was under suspension at the time and she was deemed an “excluded driver” by Omni.
A preliminary hearing for both women is tentatively scheduled for June 29.
