Escape charges: A handcuffed suspect awaiting his preliminary hearing at District Judge Lee Watson’s office Thursday morning on robbery charges led police on a brief foot chase in Cumberland Township. Jonathan A. Haines was handcuffed and making a phone call outside the magistrate’s office shortly before noon when Cumberland Township police Lt. John Beckus said he ran from the officer while talking on the cellphone. Haines, 30, of 487 Craynes Run Road, Washington Township, ran only about a block from the magistrate’s office along Route 88 before Beckus and a state police trooper stopped him. Police charged him with escape, flight to avoid apprehension, theft and receiving stolen property. He was placed in Greene County jail on $50,000 bond. His preliminary hearing for the April charges of robbery, retail theft and harassment was rescheduled for June 4.

Jewelry theft: Patrick T. Hager, 28, of 144 Second St., Clarksville, was charged Thursday with theft and receiving stolen property after state police said he and another woman stole jewelry, valuable coins and money from a woman at her Jefferson Township home between Feb. 1 and March 25. Police arrested the other woman, Amanda Lynn Walls, 33, of Clarksville, in April.

Harassment: Heather N. Davis, 30, of 1476 Jefferson Road, was cited for harassment for allegedly striking a 65-year-old woman several times while inside her Jefferson Township home May 17, state police said.

Disorderly conduct: State police said they cited Josie A. Haring, 21, of 205 Ridge Road, Jefferson, for disorderly conduct after she allegedly swerved her car at several people on Ridge Road and shouted at the them May 20.
