Interstate 70 accident cleared
The right, westbound lane of Interstate 70 near mile marker 28 in Somerset Township reopened Saturday afternoon, following a morning accident involving three trucks. As of 2 p.m. Saturday, the lane was closed, police said.
The collision occurred about 5 a.m. Saturday when trucks driven by William A. O’Neal of West Mansfield, Ohio, and Robert A. Stafford of Canonsburg were stopped because of a vehicle fire on the interstate. A truck being driven by James Roberts, of Indianapolis, struck the rear of O’Neal’s vehicle, which then drove into the rear of Stafford’s vehicle.
All westbound lanes near the site of the accident were closed to clean up debris that spilled onto the road.
There were no injuries.
