WVU fraternity suspended after prank
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia University’s Office of Student Life suspended a fraternity involved in a prank.
The university announced the interim suspension Friday of the Phi Gamma Delta chapter.
Morgantown police responded Wednesday to reports witnesses saw a group of men beating someone and then stuffing him into the trunk of a car. Officers determined that a 21-year-old Arlington, Va., man was bound with duct tape and put in the trunk in what they determined to be a prank.
Police said seven members of the fraternity face charges of disorderly conduct.
University associate dean of students and director of Greek Life Roy Baker said this kind of behavior is “not what WVU stands for.”
