Horse killed by PennDOT truck
A horse standing on Route 40 in Centerville was struck and killed early Thursday by a state Department of Transportation dump truck.
The horse and two others apparently escaped from a nearby enclosure, and the horse that was killed was standing on the road, said Valerie Petersen, spokeswoman for PennDOT’s District 12. The PennDOT employee was not injured, and the truck was not damaged.
