Washington man reports abduction
A Washington man told city police that he was forced to get into a vehicle Thursday night, driven a few blocks and then robbed.
Julio Cesar, 47, told officers he was walking on Donnan Avenue near Sammy Angott Way just before 10 p.m. when a car approached him. One of the occupants got out of the car, told Cesar to sit on the curb and look at his feet. Cesar said that he was then grabbed from behind and forced into the vehicle.
The vehicle went several blocks before the driver pulled into a parking lot off Meadow Avenue. The two men who were in the vehicle forced Cesar out and onto the ground. One of the men punched Cesar in the back of the head and the small of his back. One of the assailants took Cesar’s wallet, went through it, and stole $30.
Cesar said the robbers got back into the vehicle and drove off. He told police that he did not get a good look at the robbers or the vehicle.
