Traffic shift on Route 50

1 min read

A new traffic configuration on Route 50 in South Fayette Township, Allegheny County, will be implemented Monday.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced the traffic shift will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, weather permitting, to allow crews to continue median barrier construction.

Currently, single-lane, bi-directional traffic is maintained in the westbound lanes. Eastbound traffic will be shifted into the newly constructed eastbound lanes between Mitchell Street and Millers Run Road. The eastbound traffic will be shifted back into the westbound lanes at Millers Run Road.

Work may continue Thursday and Friday.

The $19 million project includes roadway reconstruction, guardrail and barrier updates, drainage improvements, traffic signal upgrades, debris removal, sign work and pavement markings.

Work will occur on Route 50 from the Washington County line to Millers Run Road, Route 3026.
