Carmichaels man faces DUI sentence
WAYNESBURG – A Carmichaels man convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol in a nonjury trial in August was sentenced last week by Senior Judge Hiram Carpenter III to 72 hours to six months in jail.
Jeffrey Lee McWilliams, 53, of 321 N. Market St., was arrested after he was stopped April 11, 2013, on Route 21 in Cumberland Township for driving without headlights. His blood-alcohol content was 0.16 percent.
In a trial before Carpenter on Aug. 27, McWilliams was found guilty of DUI, first offense, and two summary traffic violations. McWilliams also was fined $1,000 and received a 12-month license suspension.
