Bullet shatters taxi’s rear window, hits driver in the back

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Police in Pittsburgh are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a shooting that injured a cab driver.

Authorities say the taxi driver was struck in the back by a bullet that also blew out his rear window.

Police say the shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. Thursday in the city’s Hazelwood section. They say the cab driver traveled a few more blocks before flagging down someone to call for help.

Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital, where police say he was alert, conscious and in stable condition.

No further information was released.
