Action: At the request of the redevelopment authority, the commissioners approved the sale of five acres at California Technology Park to Washington Hospital for $250,000 to construct a $3.1 million outpatient facility adjacent to the Mon-Fayette Expressway.

The board awarded a contract for court-related computer data storage to Staples Technology Solutions of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Pittsburgh at a cost of $40,006. Purchasing Director Randy Vankirk said the county was able to save $16,000 by changing vendors.

The board approved $210 in mileage expenses for elections office temporary technical workers Lee Bethem, Steven Baka and Don White.

The commissioners renewed contracts with attorney Robert Grimm of the firm Swartz Campbell, which includes $125 per hour for an attorney to handle employment-related cases, civil rights matters and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission cases; attorney Carl Smith, $175 per hour, partner attorney of the firm Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires and Newby, which handles workers compensation claims; and attorney Michael Palumbo of the firm Campbell, Durrant, Beatty, Palumbo and Miller , which handles labor relations and employment law at a cost of $190 per hour.

The rates, which are the same as last year, are effective through Dec. 31, 2016.

At the request of jail Warden John Temas, the county renewed an agreement with the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute for the maintenance and continuance of the statewide automated victim information and notification program.

A grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency will pay half of the maintenance and service fees next year, and the county will be responsible for $4,286.

Next meeting: 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, in the public meeting room of the Courthouse Square office building.
