Anger-management specialist to be featured at domestic violence awareness event

1 min read

Dr. Christian Conte, a licensed professional counselor and psychotherapist who specializes in anger management, will be the featured speaker Wednesday at a dinner focusing on domestic violence awareness.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, for which the Washington County commissioners issued a proclamation.

Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania has planned the $60-per-person dinner for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the DoubleTree hotel, 340 Racetrack Road, Washington.

Conte, who has written several books, is the co-host of the television show, “Coaching Bad,” on the Spike TV network. He co-founded a center in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., to rehabilitate people who were convicted of violent crimes. He trains staffers of correctional institutions, sports teams and other organizations in the application of his Yield Theory Anger Management program, which attempts to teach compassion and acceptance.
