Coroner identifies Crucible woman killed in Route 21 crash

The Greene County coroner has identified the woman killed in Thursday afternoon’s crash on Route 21 in Khedive.

Becky M. Cain, 36, of Crucible, died at the scene following the three-vehicle crash in Cumberland Township, corner Gregory Rohanna said late Thursday night.

Cain was traveling west about 2:30 p.m. when her car crossed the centerline and crashed into an eastbound tri-axle dump truck carrying gravel near Crees Road. The truck then crashed into a second car, the coroner said.

The truck driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment while the driver of the other car was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., with unspecified injuries, Rohanna said. Their identities were not immediately released.

Cumberland Township and a state police crash reconstructionist are continuing to investigate what the caused the accident. An autopsy was performed Friday morning on Cain to determine the cause of death.

Thursday’s crash occurred a half-mile east of the site of another crash Tuesday morning that critically injured Marion Rich, 87, of Cumberland Township.
