Jury convicts three men in Western Pennsylvania heroin ring
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Three men have been convicted in a Western Pennsylvania heroin ring that was dismantled in 2013 following a federal investigation.
A jury on Thursday found Thomas Hopes, of Hill District as well as Keith Harris and Gregory Harris, of Homestead, guilty of drug dealing. All three are in their early 20s.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the men were also acquitted on charges related to an alleged kidnapping and beating of a fellow drug dealer.
The men were among about 35 people indicted in 2013 after an FBI-led investigation into a Homestead heroin ring.
The three men each face 10 years in federal prison.
