O-R introduces redesigned website
You asked, and we delivered.
After nearly a year in the making, the Observer-Reporter rolled out a brand-new website Friday that is designed to provide a more dynamic reader experience.
We’re still providing you with the comprehensive local news you’ve come to expect from your hometown newspaper.
We’re just bringing it to you in a more reader-friendly way.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve made changes to the website,” said Thomas P. Northrop, publisher of the Observer Publishing Co. “It’s more conducive to our mobile users, and offers a more responsive experience. Hopefully, our readers will find it easier to navigate.”
Bigger – and more – photos are among the first features you’ll notice when you arrive at the new observer-reporter.com home page.
”The design is clean with bold visual displays and an improved performance to offer an overall better reading experience,” said Nick Kratsas, online editor who is overseeing the redesign.
Click around, and you’ll see that clean design carried through on inside section fronts and article pages, which are enhanced with even more photos, more videos and more graphics to deliver a more complete view of the day’s news.
We’ll continue to bring you the top stories of the day, with a stream of headlines and images directing you to additional content that will be updated throughout the day.
The new site takes advantage of the latest web design techniques, including a mobile-friendly design and intuitive menu that better navigates visitors to the content they want.
Rather than a duplication of the print newspaper, the digital edition offers readers extra online-only content, adding extra value to the online publication.
With expanded stories, videos, podcasts, archive searches and special series, we are offering the ability to share and connect with local news better than ever before.
