Washington County men indicted on drug charges
Two Washington County men were arrested Tuesday on drug distribution charges as part of joint federal and county investigation.
Indicted in federal court were Darius Rawls, 20, of 806 Crest Ave., Charleroi, for allegedly violating narcotics and gun laws, and Larry Davis, 45, of Washington, on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin.
The arrests arose from a bench warrant that was served on Rawls in the Charleroi area.
A car driven by Davis, in which Rawls was a passenger, was stopped. Detectives seized 898 stamp bags of heroin, a stolen gun and $2,352. The arrests were a result of a cooperative effort between the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. attorney’s office.
Rawls pleaded guilty in December 2013 and in February to possession with intent to deliver and was sentenced to 36 months in prison.
Rawls was also charged in June with receiving stolen property and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Court documents show he has not been sentenced in the matter.
