PennDOT sets road work
The state Department of Transportation released its work plan for Greene County roads next week.
Maintenance activities are conducted weather permitting. County maintenance manager Jerry Simkovic urges motorists to drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.
• Bridge replacement on state Route 1023 in Cumberland Township.
• Drainage and joint sealing will begin on Interstate 79 between Waynesburg and Ruff Creek exits.
• Drainage remediation is slated to begin on various routes in Greene, Monongahela and Cumberland townships.
• Spray patching starts on state Route 3012, Greene Valley and Aleppo roads in Aleppo Township.
• Slide repair on state Route 2003, Patterson Run Road in Whiteley Township.
• Pothole repairs on Route 18, Golden Oaks Road, in Jackson Township, state Route 3005, Herod Run, in Aleppo Township and on Route 21, West Roy E. Furman Highway in Richhill Township.
• State roads will be reviewed and signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and concerns addressed on various state roads throughout the county.
