Construction plans for replacement of a bridge on Route 136 over Little Chartiers Creek, bordering North Strabane, South Strabane and Somerset townships, will be displayed from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 29 at the North Strabane Township Building, 1929 Route 519, Canonsburg.

Work will consist of replacing the existing bridge, reconstructing the approach roadway and updating the guardrail and drainage.

According to Brian Svesnik, project manager for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, construction will take two months, but the road will be closed for just 21 days.

The posted detour will use Beau Street to Interstate 70 to Route 519 at Eighty Four.

Construction is scheduled to begin June 7, 2016.
