PITTSBURGH (AP) – A Pittsburgh police officer has been struck by a vehicle.

Police say the officer was working an off-duty detail with another officer Tuesday night when he was struck outside CONSOL Energy Center.

Police say Samantha Reabe failed to negotiate a turn and hit a utility pole. The pole fell and hit a vehicle, bringing down live electrical wires.

The two officers rushed to the scene.

Police say Reabe continued driving, hit three vehicles and one of the officers. The other officer fired a shot at Reabe’s car before she ran into a second pole and stopped.

The injured officer was treated and released from a hospital. The officer who fired his weapon will be placed on a 48-hour administrative leave.

Reabe faces multiple charges including driving under the influence.
