Bomb threat closes Waynesburg Central High School
Waynesburg Central High School cancelled after-school activities and locked its doors Wednesday because of an investigation into a bomb threat according to the district’s Superintendent Brian Uplinger.
No one is permitted on school grounds until 7 a.m. today.
“We are sweeping the entire school,” Uplinger said.
Uplinger said the bomb threat specified today and Friday in its message, and state police are investigating.
Students are not permitted to bring backpacks and large purses to school today or Friday. Any backpacks or large purses brought to the school will be confiscated and a parent or guardian will have to make arrangements to pick them up, he said.
Students will be excused from school at 1 p.m. today.
