A Carroll Township woman and a man from Monessen were charged with crack trafficking following a drug raid at her home Friday morning.

State police arrested Ashley Lorrel Ford, 29, of 1213 Hillcrest St., and Taryle James Ferguson, 26, of Monessen, after they also seized drug paraphernalia from her residence about 6:30 a.m., according to court records.

“The house is very close to Mon Valley Hospital and in a residential area, so their activities stood out,” Carroll police Chief Paul Brand said. “If drug dealers think they can come here and go unnoticed, they are very mistaken.”

Police found a sizeable amount of the drug in clothing on the floor of the master bedroom, the affidavit indicates. A bag containing Xanax also was found on the bedroom floor, police said.

Three digital scales and a number of empty crack bags were found during the search of the woman’s home, according to police.

The arrests were part of a two-month investigation that began as a result of complaints from neighbors about the amount of traffic the residence was receiving, Brand said.

Ford and Ferguson are charged with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both are in Washington County jail on $50,000 bonds set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
