Smith residents report vehicles entered

1 min read

Smith Township police said that about a dozen residents of the Joffre and Bulger areas reported Monday that their vehicles were entered and items stolen.

“Most of the vehicles were unlocked,” said police Chief Bernie LaRue. “Small items were stolen and some found that the gloveboxes had been gone through because paperwork was left on the floor of vehicles.”

A woman who lives in the Shin Hill area of the township told police that the thief broke the glass out of her vehicle to steal a bag.

“I want to encourage residents to keep their vehicles locked,” LaRue said.

Police are following up on leads. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call 724-947-5069.
