Aggravated assault charge: Travis Hallam, 21, no address given, was arrested for aggravated assault Friday after allegedly attempting to enter a residence at 535 Chartiers Ave. and striking one of the occupants. When police arrived at 12:07 a.m., he was found to be intoxicated and also wanted on warrants for assault with a pistol stemming from an attempted vehicle theft in Fayette County, police said. He was placed in Washington County jail.

DUI, drug charges: Laken Marshall, 29, Bethesda, Ohio, was arrested Friday after she was later found passed out behind the wheel in the 2900 block of Washington Road, police said. An officer said she failed a field-sobriety test, and found in her car were a glass pipe, 10 empty stamp bags and five hypodermic needles. Marshall was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Assault charge: Brian Billie, 56, of 255 Davidson Avenue, Charleroi, was arrested Aug. 25 for simple assault after allegedly punching a woman, police said. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Theft: Mark Glinka, 54, of Benwood, W.Va., was arrested Wednesday at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino for allegedly cashing out another patron’s slot machine credits worth $40. A state trooper confronted Glinka after the victim reported to management her credits were cashed out, and Glinka became unruly, according to police. Glinka allegedly grabbed the trooper by the neck, and other casino patrons assisted in subduing Glinka, who is charged with theft, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Hit-and-run: Eleanor Beynon, 61, of Union Township, reported Thursday an unidentified driver of a red Volkswagen hit her vehicle while they were headed south on Route 88. Anyone with information is asked to call 724-929-8484.

Theft: Someone stole a change jar from a business at 513 E. Maiden St. on Thursday. Police found a window open at the business.

Theft: A person reported Thursday $100 was stolen from his apartment in the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue. Police interviewed two people who were staying with him but did not determine who took the cash.
