Adult, child killed in Western Pennsylvania house fire
NEW CASTLE (AP) – An adult and a child have been killed in an overnight house fire in Western Pennsylvania.
Firefighters say another adult and child were taken Tuesday morning to a hospital by helicopter.
Their conditions weren’t immediately available.
Shenango Township Fire Chief Dave Rishel says the fire started around 3 a.m. and quickly engulfed the home’s first and second floors.
He says the intense heat make it unsafe for firefighters to immediately search the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Shenango Township is about 38 miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh.
