New Cecil supervisor candidate on ballot
The Washington County Democratic Committee last week selected John D. Morrocco II to be the party’s candidate in the Cecil Township supervisor race after candidate Gary Andreis died in August. The 75-year-old retiree, of Meadowcrest Drive, joins fellow Democrat Ed Badia and Republicans Frank Egizio and Eric J. Sivavec on the November ballot.
Morrocco said he’s been hearing various complaints for years and “has the time to contribute to solve peoples’ problems,” but wouldn’t specify what issues he’d focus on.
“I don’t believe in making waves until you see the actual problems for yourself,” he said.
Morrocco beat out David Bradwell and David Williams Sr. in the secret balloting process, according to committee Chairman Ron Sicchitano.
Residents will vote for two supervisors who would be elected to six-year terms, according to Washington County Elections official Wes Parry.
