Animal cruelty: State police are trying to find the person who shot a dog in the hind legs near 123 Cabin Road in Franklin Township Sept. 1. Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Waynesburg at 724-627-6151. Police did not elaborate on the severity of the dog’s injuries.

Car vandalized: State police said a car parked on Rush Lane in Franklin Township was vandalized Sept. 6.

Mailbox stolen: A mailbox at 217 Hargus Creek Road in Jackson Township was stolen Sept. 5, state police said.

ATV stolen: State police said an all-terrain vehicle, a weed trimmer and two chain saws were stolen Aug. 24 from a locked shed at 271 Byard Road in Washington Township.

Tools stolen: Tools owned by DiMarco Construction of Clairton were stolen Aug. 21 from a worksite at Mooney Ridge Road in Whiteley Township, state police said.
