Road paving plans for Franklin Township

1 min read

WAYNESBURG – Franklin Township supervisors awarded a contract Monday afternoon to repave all or parts of a half dozen roads in the township.

The supervisors received three bids for the work and awarded the contract to A.C. Moyer Co. of Lemont Furnace, which submitted the low bid of $324,876.

The township plans to repave all of Park Avenue, Highland Avenue and Morris Street; Oakview Drive, east of Park Avenue; Bonar Avenue, from High to Eighth Street; and Pisgah Ridge Road, from Route 18 to the Grooms Well pad.

The paving will be paid for from the township’s general fund or from its Act 13 impact fee money for all roads except for Pisgah Ridge, township Supervisor John Higgins said.

Pisgah Ridge will be repaved with money from road bonds for several companies that used the road, he said. The paving is expected to begin in October.

The supervisors also discussed holding a fall clean-up day for township residents. The township hopes to hold the cleanup in October or early November.
