Fire damages Bentlevyille home

A home at 109 Russie Ave. in Bentleyville was damaged by a fire that broke out at about 12:15 p.m. today in a garage in the lower level of the home.
Bentleyville fire Chief Ron Sicchitano said that the homeowner, Joseph Zoretich III, had been welding in the basement and sparks apparently caused the blaze.
Zoretich was splitting wood in the backyard when his wife drove up to the home and saw smoke.
Most of the damage was to the garage and the basement, but there was also heat, smoke and water damage to the upstairs, Sicchitano said. He did not immediately have a damage estimate.
Cokeburg firefighters were also at the scene and there were no injuries.
