WAYNESBURG – Several criminal defendants pleaded guilty Tuesday before Greene County President Judge Farley Toothman and were sentenced.
Kent Harold Bryner, 56, of Fyffe, Ala.; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, two summary traffic violations; arrested Nov. 28, Bryner had a blood-alcohol content level of .193 percent; sentence – 30 days to 6 months in jail, $1,050 in fines, 150 hours of community service.
Lawrence Harold John, 50, of 112 Tin Can Hollow Road, Rices Landing; offenses – DUI, two summary traffic violations; arrested March 22, John had a BAC of .187 percent; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,050 in fines, 50 hours of community service.
Angela Marie Cox, 23, of 62 Hallum St., Washington; offenses – possession with intent to deliver of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; arrested April 18, 2013 at a house on Kovalcheck Road in Cumberland Township, Cox was in possession of 5.1 grams of heroin and glassine bags; sentence – sentencing hearing to be scheduled.
Guy Samuel Riggi, 41, of 407 S. Eighty-Eight Road, Carmichaels; offenses – access device fraud, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal attempt to commit theft; between Nov. 16 and 18, 2013, Riggi used another person’s debit card to make two purchases totaling $54.12; he also attempted to use the card to obtain cash from an ATM; sentence – 30 days to 23 ½ months in jail, $200 fine, 90 hours of community service, restitution.
David Smith, 24, of 123 Bliss Ave., Nemacolin; offenses – disorderly conduct, obstructing a highway, public drunkenness, pedestrian under the influence; charges of recklessly endangering another person were withdrawn; on July 5, 2014, Smith jumped in front of a vehicle on Nemacolin Road; witnesses said he had told his girlfriend he was going to kill himself by jumping in front of a car; sentence – 15 days to 1 year in jail, credit for 15 days served; $425 fine, 150 hours of community service.
