Jefferson American Legion will hold a chicken roast Sunday at the post home, 156 Franklin Road, Jefferson, to support the Sons of the American Legion. Chickens will be ready for purchase at noon.

Waynesburg University will offer its first chamber works concert of the semester at noon Oct. 1 in Roberts Chapel. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. Throckmorton United Methodist Church will host a community meal today from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today. The menu will include ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, applesauce and dessert. Takeout is available. Donations are appreciated.
