Man arrested after estranged wife’s boyfriend shot to death

1 min read

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Authorities say a western Pennsylvania man has been charged with criminal homicide in the shooting death of a man who was dating his estranged wife.

Police in Allegheny County say 27-year-old Michael Welsh was pronounced dead in a McKeesport alley after the 7 a.m. Saturday shooting.

Twenty-eight-year-old James Husok was charged with criminal homicide, evidence tampering and weapons offenses.

Police said Husok told investigators that his estranged wife called him crying from a bar Saturday, saying she and Welsh had fought.

He said he took her home, but Welsh showed up there, and there was a confrontation outside the home during which Welsh was shot.

Court documents don’t list an attorney for Husok who could offer comment on the charges and a listed number for him couldn’t be found Sunday.
