Area woman burned in oxygen tank explosion

1 min read

A woman suffered severe burns last week when an oxygen tank exploded in her Mt. Morris home.

Mt. Morris firefighters were dispatched to the emergency at 100 Euclid Ave. about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday and found the woman with severe injuries, Greene County 911 Coordinator Robert Rhodes said.

She was taken to West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh to be treated in the burn unit, Rhodes said. A man who was also in the home at the time of the explosion was not injured.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family, whose identities were not released.
