Pittsburgh toddler inside stolen car, left on sidewalk

1 min read

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh police say a 2-year-old girl was in the back seat when someone stole a car vehicle left running outside a downtown convenience store – but the thief apparently realized that and let the child out of the vehicle before driving off.

Police haven’t found the suspect or the vehicle, a silver GMC Envoy.

Police say the driver left it running when he went inside a 7-Eleven store on Liberty Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

The man tells police the vehicle was gone when he came out of the store.

Police found the little girl on Stanwix Street, a couple blocks away, a short time later.

The vehicle was still missing Monday morning.
