Three teens were charged with throwing rocks from the North Belle Vernon overpass of Interstate 70 over the weekend, resulting in damage to at least six vehicles, state police said.

The incidents happened between 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 a.m. Sunday when rocks were thrown from the Fencliff Drive overpass at the North Belle Vernon exit, resulting in cracked windshields, a shattered sunroof and dents and chips to vehicles’ paint. No injuries or crashes occurred, police said.

The three boys, two from Belle Vernon and one from Fayette City, will be charged as juveniles with propulsion of missiles through Westmoreland County Juvenile Services.

Area victims included Daniel Kubincanek of Bentleyville, Meredith Girardey of Charleroi and Ryan and Julia Bandel of Washington.
