Trump lashes out at rivals, Fox News
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is lashing out at rivals and complaining about mistreatment by the media.
Trump told a convention of black business leaders Tuesday that Marco Rubio has gotten too much attention for eclipsing Jeb Bush in some polls of Republican primary voters. Trump still leads most polls in the GOP nomination fight.
Trump’s appearance was billed as an opportunity for him to address minority business owners. White Trump supporters who bought tickets to the event comprised most of the audience.
Trump spoke in South Carolina a few hours after tweeting he was boycotting Fox News. A Fox spokeswoman said Trump’s announcement came after the channel canceled a scheduled Trump appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor” Thursday.
She said in a statement that when coverage doesn’t go Trump’s way, he engages in personal attacks on Fox anchors and hosts.
She says the behavior has “grown stale and tiresome.”
Trump has been feuding with the network since the first GOP primary debate, when he objected to the moderators’ questions.
